Dr. Nicola Müllerschön

Nicola Müllerschön is Head of Practice “Public & Not for Profit” at Odgers Berndtson Germany and specialises in the recruitment of senior executive roles in the areas arts and culture, higher education, as well as philanthropic organisations. She supports these organisations in change processes by offering tailor-made leadership advisory. She is certified for LeaderFit® HOGAN Assessments.

Since 2021, she has been a guest lecturer in cultural leadership at the University of Zurich, Master’s programme Executive Master in Arts Administratration (EMAA). She is Member of the Board at the Association of Arts and Culture of the German Economy at the Federation of German Industries e. V. / Committee Sponsoring.

Before joining Odgers Berndtson, Nicola has gained significant experience in the management of cultural and academic institutions. She was Head of the Arts and Culture sector of the foundation KfW Stiftung, set up by the state-owned development bank KfW, being responsible for global programmes. Moreover, she has worked in research projects in Switzerland, e.g. at ETH Zurich and Zurich University of the Arts, as well as in museums and the art market. She was invited several times as an expert to the Subcommittee Foreign Cultural and Education Policy of the German Bundestag, and she is familiar with committee work as a member of numerous juries.

After completing her master's degree in art history, business administration and Italian literature in Hamburg and Florence, Nicola has received her PhD from the University of Bern in cooperation with ETH Zurich with a scholarship from the Swiss National Science Foundation.
