Uruguay
Uruguay is one of the most commercial countries in Latin America. With a population of 3.5 million, Uruguay has one of the most evenly distributed incomes in Latin America, resulting in one of Latin America's largest middle classes per capita. An institutionally stable democratic country with a strong rule of law and commitment to international agreements and norms. Due to its favourable customs regimes with Mercosur and its strategic location between Argentina and Brazil, Uruguay serves as a regional distribution platform through free trade zones.
Uruguay has rich agricultural land and is almost entirely devoted to raising livestock, the country also has a significant mining industry. Half of the industrial activity is agriculture and animal food processing. In addition, Uruguay has recently invested heavily in the paper industry, which is expanding. The growing importance of service exports from Uruguay is based on some key industries that have taken advantage of the country to develop their business. These include business services, business and trading, software and ITO, financial services and creative services.
