The composition of boards within listed companies plays a crucial role in determining their strategic direction and overall success. Diversity, encompassing factors such as gender, age, and professional background, is a key influencer of board dynamics. This study seeks to offer valuable insights into the changing composition of boards in listed Indian companies, examining patterns and discrepancies that exist across various sectors and revenue brackets.
The data presented in this study focuses on a sample of 125 companies listed on the National Stock Exchange in India. The analysis includes information on:
- Over 1170 board members from the aforementioned 125 companies
- These companies reported revenue figures spanning from INR 100 crore to more than 100,000 crores
- Represented sectors include Industrial, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, Energy, Retail, Consumer, IT/ITeS, Pharma, Life-Sciences, Banking & Financial Services, E-Commerce, Healthcare, Logistics, Real Estate, among others.
