On February 8, Odgers Berndtson Japan co-hosted a highly successful panel event with the Embassy at the British Ambassador's residence on "Inclusion and Diversity in Japanese Companies," featuring four leaders from leading Japanese global companies.
The proceedings began with a cordial greeting from the British Ambassador, Julia Longbottom, who conveyed her views on the significance of inclusion and diversity. This was followed by a group of panellists who offered their perspectives on the importance of diversity from their individual viewpoints. One discussion that was especially captivating centred on strategies for effectively engaging with the majority to cultivate a culture of inclusivity within organisations.
Almost 90 business leaders, comprising CEOs and corporate officers, attended the event, indicating a strong level of interest among Japanese companies in Inclusion and Diversity. The Q&A segment proved to be a dynamic and fruitful period of interaction.
In 2019, Odgers Berndtson and the British Embassy jointly organised an event called "Japanese Acquisitions of Foreign Companies - How global HQ can manage them better." Odgers Berndtson intends to continue hosting events aimed at top-level management in Japanese companies in the future.
