We see the HR community as best equipped to comprehend and provide ongoing empirical intelligence regarding the People function. After gathering the data from our HR community members, we have compiled the results from our first quarterly HR economic pulse survey.
The results reflect an interesting mix of trends, with HR professionals feeling concerned about macro factors including the rate of inflation with 80% of respondents anticipating increasing staff pay in 2024. There is a very clear emphasis on the development of existing staff, with Heads of HR placing the focus on Leadership Development, Coaching and Succession Planning.
Hiring practices are down, with only 50% of respondents stating that they are seeking to increase headcount this year. While informal conversations may suggest a resurgence of full-time office work, the data indicates that flexible working models have persisted.
