Find out how Chief People Officers are rethinking the future of leadership and talent and finding the competitive edge.
Disruption has been certainly one of the keywords in recent times. While the COVID-19 pandemic has been top-of-mind for everybody, and even more so for business leaders, many disruptions were already going on due to the onset of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Themes that a few decades back sounded like science-fiction are now a reality. They are driving significant opportunities for value creation and will have an impact on many aspects of our lives and businesses.
Among those themes are artificial intelligence, robotics, the internet of things, massification of the internet, and the development of nanomaterials.
Three critical questions for HR Leaders
Most experts predict that the depth, but foremost, the speed of change that organisations will face is higher than ever before. The consequence is that companies need to adapt to the way they operate.
Competitiveness will be based less on tangible assets, but more on an organisation’s capacity to understand trends and adjust quickly. This agility is only possible with the right talent. Second, if leadership and talent are at the core of the competitive advantage, it must be at the centre of the C-Suite’s agenda and CEOs need to ‘own’ this topic.
To understand how to address these challenges, we asked 16 executives in charge of HR operations to share their insights around three questions:
- “How will the future context impact talent management in organisations?”
- “What will be the strategic priorities of the Chief People Officer and business leaders?”
- “What competencies will Chief People Officers and business leaders need to lead change?”
Their answers and insights formed the basis for our downloadable report: Leadership and Talent 4.0: People before strategy in times of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
