Brett Wilks joined Boschendal as COO in September 2017 and was appointed CEO in January 2018.
Brett is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the Farming, Hospitality and Property Divisions.
Boschendal has grown significantly in the last five years: it had fewer than 50 employees in 2013 and now employs 650 local people. As the business enters a new phase of change, Brett is responsible for ensuring continuous growth and alignment of the Company’s 30 departments.
The business presents complexity both internally and externally and given the current national mood of uncertainty, there is a reasonable rationale and temptation to remain inward-looking and focused on internal operations. However, Brett is positioning Boschendal to explore its complex histories, and its external environment as a source of opportunity and advantage.
Brett studied architecture at Wits University and received an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) in 2012.
