Gary Payne

Gary Payne is a Partner in Odgers Berndtson’s Houston office serving in the firm’s Energy and Industrial Practice Groups.  Combining 30+ years of experience in executive/board search, executive management and systems integration consulting, Gary brings a unique strategic insight to his work in the recruitment of Senior Executives and Board members.  Prior to beginning his career in search, he served in leadership roles with IBM and as Chairman/CEO for a PE-backed Specialty Manufacturing company.

Gary was previously Managing Partner at Allen Austin in Houston.  Throughout his search career, he has served clients in Industrial Manufacturing, Distribution, Cleantech, Oil & Gas and Power.  Functional disciplines include C-level roles in General Management, Finance, Supply Chain, International leadership and Human Resources.

 A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Gary is a member of several philanthropic Boards in Houston.
