John Davison



John Davison leads Zuellig Pharma’s Executive Management team and runs this US$12 billion business across 13 markets in Asia. Since becoming CEO in 2014, John has been pivotal in leading the transformation of the business, defining its mission to make healthcare more accessible through world-class distribution, technology and commercial solutions.

John has over 30 years of experience leading start-ups, turnarounds, and mergers & acquisitions across a range of industries including consumer products, technology and retail. A graduate of Cambridge University and Harvard Business School, John began his career with UK retailer Marks & Spencer before joining McKinsey. He was appointed Head of Strategy at Grand Met/IDV, the leading drinks company and was part of the leadership team steering the 1997 merger with Guinness, later heading up strategic planning for Diageo.

Prior to joining Zuellig Pharma, John was President of Danone’s Dairy Division in Asia, Middle East and Africa, comprising 20 countries, which included building teams and opening factories in new markets such as Korea, Australia, Thailand, Iran and Iraq.

John serves on the Harvard Business School Alumni Board and was recently appointed to the Advisory Board of the Lee Kong Chian School of Business at the Singapore Management University. He provides advice to both schools on strategy, academic programmes and other related activities.

John is British and is based in Singapore.
