CEOx1Day is on the hunt for Singapore’s top students!
CEOx1Day Information Talk at NUS on October 27th
The CEOx1Day program, run by executive recruiting firm, Odgers Berndtson, matches Singapore’s top students with CEOs from across the country. Today’s students are the leaders of tomorrow, and the annual program aims to uncover some of Singapore’s most promising talent by giving them an unforgettable real-world, working experience.
This event was launched by Odgers Berndtson in Europe ten years ago and is now running in a number of countries, including Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, UK and United Arab Emirates. This year, the company has another great line-up of CEOs from organizations in the private and public sectors, including Johnson & Johnson, Lloyd’s, Saxo Group, Siemens Healthineers, PropertyGuru and Bayer Pharmaceuticals.
Past CEOx1Day students say that through the program they received valuable experience that equipped them with the tools to start building careers. Because the selection process involves several stages, students have an opportunity to receive feedback on their leadership and interview skills, even if they don’t make it to the final round. The phases of the selection process include an online leadership assessment, and phone or in-person interviews with Odgers Berndtson recruiters.
The application process is open September 18th to November 17th, with the day of shadowing a CEO some time in February 2018.
Why should you apply?
The program gives penultimate and final year undergraduates an opportunity to apply in-class learning to real-world situations, where they gain a sense of the issues, skills and challenges dealt with daily by the people at the top – where many hope to be.
What are the benefits?
The benefits of this program are enormous, even for those who don’t reach the finals:
- Participating in the recruitment process gives students valuable skills and experience for future job searches.
- Semi-finalists will complete an online leadership assessment and receive a personalized report from Hogan Assessments, a global leader in assessments. The report will provide feedback on aspects of their leadership skills, such as relationship building, goal setting and strategic thinking, which will help them when choosing a career path.
- Semi-finalists will be invited to the Odgers Berndtson Singapore offices for an in-person interview, which will strengthen interview skills. They will also have an opportunity to review their personalized leadership assessment report with a consultant from Odgers Berndtson.
- Ultimately, the winners will spend a full day shadowing a CEO (including one-on-one time), learning about his or her background, career path, and leadership approach.
