Odgers Berndtson hosts Esports industry event

Guests from the sports and Esports sectors will discuss the astonishing growth and opportunity within this lucrative market.

The Sports and Gaming divisions of Odgers Berndtson will be holding an esports Lunch on Thursday 28th September 2017 at its London offices.

With the niche position Odgers Berndtson has in the market being the only global executive search firm to have a dedicated Gaming and esports practice, this event will bring together colleagues from traditional sports and esports worlds to share insights on the next phase of growth for an industry that is already experiencing incredible success.

As the esports industry is estimated to reach an astonishing $1.1 billion (if not more) in value by 2019, guests will discuss what this young sector can learn from traditional sports and equally how the sports industry can be more heavily involved in the phenomenal popularity of esports.

The Sports Practice at Odgers has over a decade of experience and networks working with clients such as The FA, NFL, NBA, UFC, WWE, NRL, Bundesliga and Premier League. Likewise, the Gaming practice has established an excellent position for handling senior executive positions in video and mobile gaming as well as focusing on VR and AR.

As well as handling key senior searches in the Sports and Gaming sectors, Odgers Berndtson benefits from strong networks inside the broader Media, Technology and Entertainment sector.  As the esports sector matures, Odgers Berndtson's networks across broad geographies and markets should prove extremely valuable in helping leagues, teams, sponsors and gaming publishers to access the necessary talent to allow them to take advantage of the increasing awareness of esports globally.

The event is being hosted by Simon Cummins and Caroline Lacey and will feature guests from the sports and esports sectors.
