Laura Spurgin

Laura specialises in recruiting high-profile executive, non-executive and chair roles on behalf of UK Central Government departments, agencies, and regulatory bodies.

She is skilled at leading complex, politically sensitive appointments, bringing the breadth of Odgers Berndtson’s expertise and networks to bear in delivering creative, inclusive searches that extend across sectors, geographies, and professional disciplines. She has significant experience of partnering with clients to deliver OCPA/Civil Service Commission compliant processes, providing support to navigate ministerial engagement and interest.

As a Social Mobility Ally, Laura has a positive, proactive approach to prioritising Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, ensuring this sits at the heart of every search as standard. With almost 20 years’ experience in executive search, Laura has worked across the breadth of the public sector, and prior to joining Odgers Berndtson in 2012 she was a consultant for a mid-tier search firm, before becoming Head of Resourcing for a boutique interim management firm. Laura has a BSc (Hons) in European Studies and Sociology from Aston University.
