Sarah Shaw joined Odgers Interim in 2008 as a Consultant and was promoted to Partner in 2012 and runs the Interim Education Practice. She is based out of the Birmingham office but has a national portfolio. Sarah looks after senior appointments in Higher Education/Business Schools and aligned organisations to higher education as well as Independent/fee-paying schools. Sarah is also a key member of the team working in the Further Education sector, the non-fee paying Secondary Schools sector (Grammar, State, Academies/New/Faith Schools), Employment Support and Learned Societies, Trade Associations and Professional Membership Bodies.
Sarah has 21 years’ recruitment experience across a variety of sectors, both public and commercial.
She joined Odgers Interim from a generalist interim management provider where for two and a half years she was a principal, handling assignments in the West Midlands and supporting specialist sector heads. Her remit encompassed the charity, not-for-profit and commercial sectors as well as central and local government.
Between 1998 and 2004 Sarah ran her own interim management and niche recruitment business in Surrey. She specialised in the private sector, assisting start-ups and entrepreneurial initiatives. Sarah is no stranger to the challenges facing interim executives as she has worked as an interim manager herself in different marketing agencies. Sarah is a graduate of Reading University and began her career in market research and FMCG marketing. At one stage she was responsible for creating drinks’ brands and she brings that flair for innovation to her work at Odgers Interim.
Sarah was recognised for her recruitment efforts when voted Interim Consultant of the Year: 2017 by the Institute of Interim Managers. Sarah is a volunteer for the Cinnamon Trust and is Football Club Secretary for Romulus FC.
