Mark Freebairn

Mark Freebairn is a Partner and Head of the Board Practice, and Financial Management Practice of Odgers Berndtson, based in London.

This combination has created a centre of excellence focussing on advising the Board as a whole: Chair, NED, CEO, CFO, and others whilst maintaining the track record the Financial Management Practice has built of working with the finance function to identify and develop talent.

Mark led the CFO Practice for 18 years before broadening his remit to lead the Board Practice, following the career path of many CFOs to CEO and beyond. He benefits from seven years of experience as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of GlobalData plc, giving him insight into the inner workings of a plc board. He also sits on the Remuneration Committee for the ICAEW.

The Board Practice incorporates our flourishing Chair and NED team and is supported by the heads of our People and Culture, and Company Secretary functions, alongside our Assessment team and every Sector Practice Head. With one unified Board Practice, we bring together the knowledge, insight, and networks from across the wider executive and non-executive space. This brings the deep and broad experience of our teams to bear, further reflecting the creativity, diversity, and professionalism of our work for clients.
