Doug combines the tenacity of an accomplished relationship sales professional with a unique ability to connect people and business. Doug enjoyed success in corporate sales at ADP in Toronto, where he conducted needs assessment consultations with business owners and senior HR professionals and delivered business enhancements suited to the needs of over 275 client companies. Upon relocating to Ottawa, Doug established a strong local business network as an Account Manager at the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI). Since joining Odgers Berndtson in 2004, Doug has worked on over 80 searches across all sectors including associations, not-for-profits, crown corporations, federal public service and private companies all at the Director, VP and C-level. His passion, energy and genuine interest in his clients business and innate ability to engage and assess fit, combine well to ensure a successful outcome to his searches.
Doug is the author of “Making the Leap: a guide for private sector executives exploring a career in the public service”, an article he completed following meetings with 35 executives in the public service to research the subject.
Doug holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and has served as a Business Advisor to Junior Achievement Ottawa, the Entrepreneurship Centre and as part of the Leadership Partnership. He lives in Ottawa with his wife Marie-Claude and their two children.
