Cheryl D’Cruz-Young is a Managing Director in the New York office of Diversified Search Odgers Berndtson. She leads the Regional Procurement and Supply Chain Practice and is the co-chair of the Diversity Practice. She is also a core member of the Global Consumer Practice.
Cheryl specializes in the placement of senior executives and has successfully completed searches at the national, regional and global level for clients such as Brown Shoe, Chevron, Citizens Financial Group, General Dynamics, Office Depot, Novartis and Raytheon. Her deep industry experience and cultural breadth supports her unique approach to challenging cross-cultural executive roles where she has demonstrable experience in delivering success at the CEO, President, VP Global Supply Chain and CPO level within both large and mid-size companies. Cheryl has international experience herself, having worked and lived in London, Paris and New York for multinational companies.
Cheryl’s ability to articulate the critical strategic nature of the Supply Chain Management function, delivering bottom-line value through a genuine approach to supplier collaboration, facilitated rapid career progression. She has broad regional and global experience, successfully outsourcing non-core competencies at Glaxo, in addition to devising and implementing procurement best practices across the Coca Cola Enterprise businesses in the Benelux, France and the UK. Prior to joining Executive Search, Cheryl was responsible for the CS Americas-wide procurement development strategy, working with her Regional counterparts to ensure global capability alignment . During that period she witnessed first hand the mission critical challenges the supply chain function faces in talent acquisition, retention and development.
Cheryl received her MA in Financial Economics in 1992. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Supply Chain in the UK and a participative member of the Institute of Supply Management in the US where she has been an elected Committee Chair for Women & Leadership since 2009. She resides in New York with her husband and two very active sons.
