
Two thousand of the world’s top entrepreneurs, business leaders, senior executives, investors, academics, students and related experts participated in this global event with the aim of bringing together different ideas and cultures around the theme of enterprise.
Honda Foundation hosted the event in Japan, which was co-sponsored by Odgers Berndtson Tokyo along with Mizuho Corporate Bank, Softbank Mobile and others. The week-long Tokyo event was attended by US Ambassador to Japan, John Roos, and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sent a video message applauding the initiative to promote innovation, imagination and creativity through entrepreneurship.
Presenting provocative seminars such as “Seeds to Businesses” - How academics can be motivated to commercialize technology seed ideas, “Entrepreneurship in China”, “Global Entrepreneur Week: Japan’s Entrepreneur Scene” and recognizing role models through events such as Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year Award – Japan”, Global Entrepreneur Week Japan succeeded in achieving their four goals – "to inspire, connect, mentor and engage the next generation of entrepreneurs in the spirit of cross cultural exchange and innovation".
