The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) in the US has announced several new additions to its Corporate Governance Hall of Fame.
Its latest round of inductions was made as part of the fourth annual Directorship 100 - a published list that recognises the most influential figures in terms of boardroom leadership and corporate policymaking.
The 2010 inductees to the hall of fame include senior editor-at-large of Fortune magazine Carol Loomis and Alan Lafley, the former chief executive of Procter & Gamble.
Former Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker is another of the selected individuals, in light of his contribution to the regulatory oversight of major financial institutions.
NACD president and chief executive Ken Daly said the figures included in the Directorship 100 are responsible for "shaping the future of corporate governance at a time when American business looks to restore investor confidence and restore economic growth".
The NACD is due to host its 2010 Corporate Governance Conference in Washington DC from October 16th to 19th.
