The international executive search firm Odgers Berndtson and the American technology company NVIDIA are working together to raise awareness of the potential for artificial intelligence (AI) and deep-learning technologies among leading European companies. A series of events have been organised to provide a platform for innovative start-ups working in field of artificial intelligence across Europe.
“Through the NVIDIA Inception Programme we nurture AI start-ups on many levels to provide support during the crucial stages of their product and prototype development,” said Serge Lemonde, NVIDIA Deep Learning Startups Business Director, EMEAI. “We create a platform for AI start-ups, investors and sector leaders from the tech community to realise the advantages of artificial intelligence for all areas of the economy.”
Markus Trost, Partner at Odgers Berndtson and Digital Transformation expert commented: “innovative companies are already engaging with artificial intelligence. The technologies will scale quickly and will become widely-adopted over the next few years, which will require the need for expertise and talent in line with the need for hardware and software solutions.”
Michael Drew, Head of the UK Technology Practice at Odgers Berndtson in London added: “we are pleased to provide companies with a first look at the potential application for early-stage deep learning technologies as well as provide access to the best minds in this field.”
Deep learning is one of the fastest-growing disciplines in the field of AI. It helps machines to process vast quantities of data such as images, sound and text. Computers that employ several levels of neural networks have the ability to recognise, to learn and to react to complex situations. This means that machines are often just as good or, if not, better than humans. “The many applications of deep learning technologies are varied, ranging from medical surgery to driverless cars to stock options for investment strategies,” explained Daniel Saaristo, who is responsible for the NVIDIA’s Inception Programme in Central Europe.
The first event by Odgers Berndtson and NVIDIA took place in Frankfurt last Wednesday, 22nd March 2017 and focused on deep learning in the Financial Services sector. On 26th June this year, Odgers Berndtson and NVIDIA will be showcasing the benefits of deep learning technology in the healthcare market at an event in London.
